Today was another day filled with food and more food. I woke up to find out that we were going to have a lunch buffet together with Taewoo's church orchestra at Chaeseondang (채선당) in Seok-dong, Jinhae-gu (석동, 진해구). The buffet included Korean Rice Cakes, Ddeokbokki (떡볶이), pasta, salads, meat dishes, hot pot and vietnamese rice paper to make some spring rolls. They all washed down with a nice cup of coffee and I thought that was the end of lunch.
I thought wrong. Instead, we proceeded right next door to Seol Bing (설빙) Dessert Cafe for shaved iced desserts known as Bing Su (빙수).
We got cubed mango and cream cheese on top of shaved ice together with ice cream and some almonds.
The blueberry bingsu was also extremely delicious!
I also got to meet Taewoo's church mates who are also part of the orchestra. Although there was a slight language barrier, it was interesting to communicate through broken bits of Korean and English to somehow sustain a conversation.
After filling our stomachs, we headed home for two hours of rest. I managed to just relax a little, play some piano while I was at it and also cool down from the heat.
By 7pm, we were out the door and headed to Mountain Cook for some delicious Korean barbecue - Samgyeopsal (삼겹살) . The concept of the store was rather interesting as it tried to mimic an actual camping experience. It was complete with rocky ground, camping chairs and bits of nature around the restaurant too.
Presenting our delicious spread before it reached its sizzling stage. Streaks of pork with a variety of sausages complimented with side dishes of beansprouts, radish, squid and vegetables. We also had some scrambled eggs, cheese and kimchi jjigae stew (김치 찌개).
After our meal, we headed to the cinema upstairs to catch Mission Impossible and thankfully it wasn't dubbed into Korean so I managed to watch it in English! (yes), I wanted to watch Inside Out in Korea but didn't realise it would be fully dubbed and subbed both in Korean haha! So I can't even read any subtitles to understand it.
Today was a very filling day...
